An Awesome Eight Year Old!

We celebrated Sophie's eighth birthday this weekend. It was Hawaiian theme complete with lei's sun glasses, grass skirts, and a surfing Mickey Mouse cake! She got everything an eight year old could want. Her new skateboard and Snuggy blanket were her favorite. My favorite part of the night were the trick candles. Not even I knew that they would relight. It was quite funny. She is really turning eight on February 5th and that means she can get baptized the next day! We are very proud of her and can't wait for it to happen. Congrats sweetie!!! You are such a big girl.... well I guess you're turning into a little lady!!! Love you!!!

It's been a pretty uneventful week and thats how we like it!

Not much happened this week. There was a short work/school week because of Martin Luther King Day. The kids had their usual lessons and Glenn has been working 18 hour days because the Sundance Film Festival is in town. One exciting thing did happen though...
Briar got 100% on her spelling test!!! I never doubted her but she was really nervous about the whole thing. She spelled 25 words correct and got a cute little certificate to put on the fridge.
For those of you that don't know Briar is in kindergarten this year. She loves it so much that she cried when I had to check her out of class 10 minutes early for an appointment! She is a super smart girl but her favorite things to do are reading, math, and of course spelling. Her favorite books to read are Junie B. Jones, the Rainbow Fairies series, and Tiara Club.
After school Briar takes a ballet dance class. She has her big recital coming up in May. This February she will be starting piano lessons with Grandma Nena!
Keep up the good work Sis! We are so proud of you!!!

J is for January and Joshy!!!

Brrr!!! Its FREEZING!!!

January means a new year and new adventures. Briar has been in dance/tumbling for 2 years now and Josh felt it was time he got to take some kind of lesson too. His first choice was karate but since we can't find a school that fits our schedule he went with swimming lessons instead. He has never been afraid of the water and these lessons are just fueling the fire. He will jump in anytime, anywhere, no matter how deep the water is, especially if he sees "big boys" doing it. I don't think that is really a good thing. I am hoping these lessons will help him learn water safety along with technique.

January 13th is also a big day at our house. Its Joshy's birthday and this year he is 4!!! We celebrated by taking treats to pre-school and swimming lessons for all of his friends. We also had a super hero party with a special Batman cake!!! He got lots of fun presents too... Batman action figures, a GI Joe Inja (Ninja) A John Deer tractor, PJ's, A flashlight and a sharp tie to wear to church. (Josh is a Sunbeam in primary now!!!) He has big plans for this year like going to Disneyland and riding a 2 wheeler. He also wants to play t-ball in the summer!
